ABOUT
When we first set foot on this land, we felt we had stepped into another world: 16 hectares of wild nature, total peace, and the Atlantic just a short drive away.
We knew straight away it was the place to slow down, switch off and reconnect — with ourselves, with nature and with each other.
Today Lua Nua is a small gay guesthouse for men on the Costa Vicentina, near Zambujeira do Mar and the wild beaches of the Alentejo coast in southern Portugal: a clothing-optional pool, quiet rooms with private terraces, shared dinners under the stars, and all the time in the world to do absolutely nothing.
Throughout the year, Lua Nua also opens its doors to retreats — yoga, art, tantra and more — led by teachers we love and trust, for those who want to go a little deeper.

Slow mornings, lazy afternoons by the pool, long dinners with new friends from all over the world — and the wild beaches of Alentejo and the Algarve on your doorstep. Here’s what makes your stay at Lua Nua special.
Breakfast
Homemade, natural and generous, served every morning on the veranda in the sunshine. Take your time.
Dinner parties
A few evenings a week, we cook for all our guests. Good food, a glass of wine and new friends from all over the world.
Our beach tips
Every morning at breakfast, we share the tides, the best wild beaches of the day and when to go. Some of them you won't find in any guide.
Gifts & private events

Clothing-optional pool
A 14 x 5 m saltwater pool treated with UV, with a sun deck, loungers and total privacy. Skinny dip and soak up the sun.
